Two presentations from the Yerevan course
Armenia's water and Armenia in open data, the two decks shown at the Water Management course, are now online for anyone to use.
The Water Management course for youth workers runs in Yerevan until 16 September. Two presentations shown there are public from today. Both run in the browser, also on a phone: arrow keys or swipe, F for full screen.
Armenia's water, 26 slides on where Armenia's water comes from, who uses it, what goes wrong and what satellites and artificial intelligence can add. Water networks lose roughly three quarters of what they carry, and only 8 percent of sewage gets any treatment. Every number carries its source and year. A companion app, Water Lab, adds tools that work on live data: a satellite view of Lake Sevan, Armstat tables, a leak test from a home meter.
Armenia in open data, 20 slides on where open data on air, water and nature lives and how to get it: more than 250 air sensors in one file, the level of Lake Sevan day by day, the statistical office's tables, nature records. One slide lists what does not work.
The last slide added shows what those sources flagged on 13 September: a dust spike at one citizen sensor near Vanadzor, ministry stations in Alaverdi, Vanadzor and Yerevan above the WHO guideline all week, and gaps in the monitoring itself. A short script gathers this into a bulletin any organisation can run for itself.
