Armenia between the lines: a joint report with AIISA

Poland publishes more about Armenia than it knows. Eight institutions, from the Foreign Ministry to the Border Guard, keep Armenia inside the rows of 65 datasets on the open data portal dane.gov.pl. None of those datasets is about Armenia, and the catalogue search returns nothing for the word, so the data had to be read between the lines. The report lists every dataset by number, so each figure can be checked at the source.

The report was written with the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs after the AI Shield workshop in Yerevan. Eight charts and nine tables cover grant competitions, visa and border statistics, citizenship decisions, school data, agri-food trade and state registers, with every figure as published on 13 September 2026.

It also names what is missing: no treaty register, no development cooperation database, no total trade by country, no census tables by nationality. The same gap applies to Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan.

Part two, published a day later, reads the same data for meaning. Five conclusions: Armenia is an administrative presence in Polish data, not a political topic; the migration link has settled at a new level since 2022; the only steady Polish funding channel is the minority grants for Polish-Armenian organisations; agri-food exports grew fivefold without any trade data; and each of the five data gaps has an institution that can ask for it. Recommendations go to six addressees, from the Armenian Foreign Ministry to journalists. Both parts are in Armenian. Corrections from readers in Armenia are welcome at contact@caucasian.network.
